About the Department

The Department of Commerce at KMC College was established in 1979 and has consistently upheld a tradition of academic excellence and holistic development.

The department initially started with the Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) programme.

Recognizing the need for advanced education, the department introduced the Master of Commerce (M.Com) programme in Advanced Accountancy in 2004.

Research Centre

The department established a Ph.D. Research Centre in Commerce (Business Policy and Administration) during the academic year 2024–25.

Currently, three research scholars are pursuing doctoral studies under the department.

The department introduced the following programmes in the academic year 2025–26:

Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (BAF)
Bachelor of Banking and Insurance (BBI)
