The Department of History was established in the college in the year 1980.

Having served as faculty members within this department, Dr. R. Y. Patil and Dr. K. S. Mohite subsequently fulfilled the duties of the Principal of college during their respective tenures.

Currently, Dr. Dayanand Prabhu Gaikwad serves as the Head of the Department while Prof. Nagorao Madhukar Taru serves as an Assistant Professor.

Dr. Dayanand Gaikwad currently serves as a member of the Board of Studies in History at the University of Mumbai.

His research papers have been published through various seminars and symposia held at university, national, and international levels.

He completed his Ph.D. research on the subject of Weaponry of the Shivaji Era.

Prof. Nagorao Taru is currently engaged in research work on:
